Using a synthetic phonics approach, Jolly Phonics teaches children the five key skills for reading and writing. Phonics is all about sounds and we teach children the five key skills for reading and writing. This is a methodology where students learn sounds of English alphabets and will learn how to form write the letters
The five skills taught in Jolly Phonics
- Learning the letter sounds
- Learning letter formation
- Identifying the sounds in words (Segmenting)
- Tricky words
Once when they reach this level they will be taught how to blend the sound together to read and write new words it will create a great impact in them for improving spelling. There are lots of tricky words that are irregular spellings and they learn it separately.
The main aim of this program is to make our students read and write English words with proper sounds. The phonics children's reading skills were 11 months above the level expected for their age.Hope we will be in a position to bring out the best in them and make a big difference compared to their earlier stage.
